There is something truly magical about capturing love stories at Priston Mill, and Lauren and Rowan's wedding was no exception. Nestled in the heart of Somerset, Priston Mill offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and elegance, providing a stunning backdrop for a wedding photographer. I was honoured to be a part of Lauren and Rowan's special day, and their wedding was a testament to love, joy, and the beautiful moments that make a wedding unforgettable.

The day began with Lauren and her bridesmaids getting ready in a charming church cottage owned by a close friend. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as Lauren slipped into her exquisite gown, which perfectly complemented the vintage ambiance of the cottage. The soft morning light streaming through the windows provided the ideal setting for capturing those intimate, candid moments that reflect the essence of the day. Coupled that with being plied with plenty of tea and coffees and the girls had a fantastic time getting ready.

The ceremony took place in the picturesque Tythe Barn. The rustic beams and exposed stone walls created an enchanting atmosphere, heightened by the soft sounds of a three piece band playing throughout the service. Lauren walked down the aisle with a radiant smile, her eyes locked on Rowan's, creating a moment of pure connection that was a privilege to photograph.

Following the heartfelt vows and the exchange of rings, the newlyweds enjoyed a unique twist on the traditional canapés: delicious ice creams served from an ice cream bicycle. The guests were delighted by this charming touch, and it provided a wonderful opportunity for capturing candid moments of joy and indulgence. The lush gardens of Priston Mill provided a stunning setting for the couple's portraits. The soft light from what was an overcast day, brought the best light to showcase the couple against the buildings and it’s surroundings. Lauren and Rowan's love for each other was palpable, and capturing their tender moments against the backdrop of rolling hills and vibrant garden flowers was a true delight.

The reception was also held in the Tythe Barn, a space that effortlessly blends rustic charm with modern elegance. The barn was adorned with twinkling fairy lights and floral arrangements (provided by a family friend) in soft pastel hues, creating a romantic ambiance. The speeches were a highlight of the evening, filled with laughter, happy tears, and heartfelt tributes to the couple. I made sure to capture every emotional moment, preserving the genuine reactions and connections shared among family and friends.

As the evening transitioned into night, the dance floor came alive with energy and celebration. Un-traditionally, Lauren and Rowan did not have a first dance, yet they let everyone bask in their joy and love together with every song that went by. Guests joined in (apart from a few gentlemen who had their eyes cast on the England v Holland semi final) which helped create a lively and joyous atmosphere that I was thrilled to document.

Lauren and Rowan's wedding at Priston Mill was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
