Beth & Tom - Bishops Palace Wedding Photography
As a professional wedding photographer based in Somerset, I have had the pleasure of capturing countless love stories, but Beth and Tom's wedding at the Bishops Palace Wedding and Events venue stands out as one of the most enchanting experiences. Nestled in the heart of Wells, Somerset, the Bishops Palace offers a perfect blend of historic charm and natural beauty, creating an idyllic setting for this wonderful celebration. Being my first couple to go from engagement photoshoot to their “I do” day, it was an extra special day for me personally.
From the moment I arrived, the excitement was palpable. Beth and her bridesmaids were getting ready at a friends house that hid away in a peaceful village on the Mendips. It was a beautiful place with morning light that filtered through the big windows surrounding the back of the house. The atmosphere was a delightful mix of anticipation and joy, and Beth looked stunning in her dress, her smile lighting up the room and tears already flowing from her parent’s faces.
The ceremony took place in a local church to the family in Rodney Stoke, an intimate space adorned with exquisite stained glass windows and centuries-old stonework. Tom, looking dapper in his suit, awaited his bride with a palpable mix of nerves and excitement. As Beth walked down the aisle, escorted by her father, the look on Tom's face was priceless - a moment of pure love and emotion that I was honoured to capture. Following the ceremony, was simply the most amazing confetti throw I have ever seen in my time as a wedding photographer and the images hopefully do it justice, just wow!
One of the highlights of the day was the portrait session in the palace gardens. The Bishops Palace is renowned for its breathtaking gardens, complete with vibrant flowers, ancient trees, and the serene moat that surrounds the grounds. Beth and Tom were a dream to photograph (helped by their engagement photoshoot), their love and chemistry shining through in every shot. The soft afternoon light, mixed with some rain, provided a magical quality to the photos, with the historic architecture and lush greenery offering a stunning backdrop.
The reception was held in the impressive Undercroft, a space that exudes character with its vaulted ceilings and stone walls. The room was beautifully decorated with fairy lights and floral arrangements that complemented the venue's natural charm. The speeches were a perfect blend of heartfelt and humourous, reflecting the couple's personalities and their journey together. Capturing these moments, from the tearful reactions to the bursts of laughter, was a true joy.
As the evening progressed, Beth and Tom took to the dance floor for their first dance as a married couple. The love in their eyes and the warmth of the surrounding guests created a magical atmosphere that was a delight to capture. The dance floor soon filled with friends and family, celebrating and creating memories that would last a lifetime, helped by a free bar.
Beth and Tom's wedding at the Bishops Palace was a testament to love, joy, and the beauty of sharing such a special day with loved ones. Every element, from the historic venue to the personal touches, came together to create an unforgettable experience. It was an honour to be part of their journey and to capture the moments that will be cherished forever.
Congratulations, Beth and Tom! May your lives be filled with endless love and happiness.
